The Legend of the Flying Boulder

Leyenda heard a crash upon Fairy Mount. She saw a boulder speeding down the mountain towards the fairy village.

Fortunately, Leyenda was inventive. She raced to construct an incline. When the boulder came, it flew up the incline and over the villagers’ heads. However, not one fairy noticed her efforts.

I love the simplicity in this piece. I originally wrote it for the AG Fine Arts Festival in 2022, challenging myself to only write 50 words as per the rules, not expecting it to go far. To my surprise, this piece advanced to the National Fine Arts Festival.
