The Bluebird's Song-Day 3: Night of Wonder

Night of Wonder-

When the waiter came back with our meals, Angelina asked when he got off, “In about ten minutes,” William replied. Then Angelina asked, “Would you mind spending a couple of minutes with us after your shift is over? Surely you get a bite of food before going home.”

I kicked my friend under the table to get her to stop talking but to no avail.

“Absolutely,” he said, his eyes twinkling like stars at night as he surveyed me. His smile made me squeal loudly and melt into a lovesick puddle. But I had to play it cool, so I acted nonchalantly.

William came back to our table after his shift ended and I got to know him more. He told me how he loved to read, he would sometimes write for the local newspaper, and he was a cat person. He was practically gushing over a picture that she showed me of his cat, Muffin. It was crazy how similar we were, except I disliked writing.

We talked for so long, then William asked me if we could meet up again, (this occurred when Angelina “went to the bathroom” for a long time to give us some space). I went home feeling warm and fuzzy inside. It had certainly been a night of wonder.
