Enemy Unveiled-
“What’s happening,” I gasped as I ran.
“No time!” Angelina warned. Suddenly someone grabbed Angelina and pulled her into an alley. She screamed as she struggled to get out of her captor’s grip. The shadowy figure holding her pulled out a gun and clicked it into place as he held it against her head. Angelina tensed and stopped her struggle.
“You think stealing that powerful jewel from under my nose would be easy?” Judging by the deep raspy voice, it must’ve been the same person who stole my brooch. “Thought I wouldn’t notice?”
Angelina kept trying to wiggle out of his arms but he held the gun firmly. “Think again. Or don’t, because you’ll soon be dead,” he said as his in fear, voice sent a shiver down my back.
I was frozen, my eyes still trying to adjust to the dark. I couldn’t tell if another figure was approaching the one holding Angelina captive. “Let her go!” I suddenly shouted. I tried to rush at the person, but he held the gun out toward me and I stopped in my tracks.
“One more move,” he said dangerously, putting the gun against Angelina’s head again, “and she’ll die. Unless she gives me back that brooch.”
“Never!” Angelina gasped. She tried to slip out of his arms again, heading towards the street lights, but the man stepped out of the alley to grab her, and I saw his face.
“Thomas?” I said incredulously.
